LOS ANGELES – Reed Smith announced today that Amber Finch, partner and global chair of the firm’s Insurance Recovery Group, was named to the fourth annual Los Angeles Times 2024 Visionaries list. Finch was honored for her professional accomplishments and leadership at the firm and in her community.

Finch leads high-profile insurance coverage disputes on the national and international stage pertaining to opioids, environmental issues, mass shootings and other catastrophic losses, including the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, helping her commercial policyholder clients recover over a billion dollars in insurance proceeds through litigation and prelitigation claim settlements.

In her role as Global Chair of the firm’s renowned Insurance Recovery Group, Finch focuses on excellence in client service, growth and maintaining the group’s competitive edge in the market for insurance coverage issues.

Throughout her career, Finch has demonstrated her dedication to the development, retention and promotion of minorities in the legal community and beyond. She is also a true champion of diversity in the legal industry and an active mentor to other lawyers within the firm and the industry.

In the community, for almost two decades, Finch has been a member of the Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, Inc., a non-profit organization committed to the advancement and development of women of color in the legal profession. During her term as president, the organization was awarded the State Bar of California’s Diversity Award.

Finch likewise serves on the board of Crystal Stairs, a non-profit dedicated to the betterment of children and families in underserved communities through a variety of childcare and educational programming. She also is on the University of Southern California Gould School of Law’s Board of Councilors, which provides counsel to the law school deans and faculty.
