Strategies for the successful resolution of disputes arising from global energy projects was a key focus at Reed Smith’s Fourth Annual Energy & Commodities Conference in Houston last week.

An in-depth panel discussion addressed how to avoid, manage and deal with claims during the execution of international energy infrastructure projects, and, subsequently, the disputes connected to those projects. The presentation also informed on how efficiently spend and use of resources; create value and promote successful outcomes, whether in negotiation, the increasingly common tiered dispute resolution procedures, or international arbitration.

This international panel was led by London partner Vince Rowan and Tysons partner Michael S. Dingman, who Co-Chair Reed Smith’s Construction & Engineering Team. They were joined by partner Shourav Lahiri, who recently joined the firm’s Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Singapore, and Hong Kong offices, and has more than 20 years of experience advising on oil and gas and infrastructure disputes in Asia and the Middle East.
