But he has built a 30-year career at Reed Smith, rising to managing partner of its Washington, D.C. office. Along the way, Scott has hired and recruited many lawyers to the firm. He believes the most important consideration is a firm’s culture. “Do I like the people I’m working with?” he asks. “Are they supportive? Can I grow my practice?
