Michael is an accomplished energy regulatory and compliance counsel with a remarkable track record spanning over 30 years in federal and state administrative and regulatory law, litigation, appeals, policy, infrastructure, and project development. As a strategic business and legal counselor, Michael possesses vast experience working with significant energy companies and major law firms. Notably, he served as director of regulatory affairs at NRG/Direct Energy. He was a government appellate litigator in the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC) Solicitor’s Office. He also was a policy advisor in FERC’s Office of General Counsel, where he advised the Commission on complex issues associated with competitive wholesale electric energy markets, the transmission of electric energy in interstate commerce, and electric system reliability.
