Alexandra advises employers on all aspects of the employer-employee relationship from hire through separation, assisting with the day-to-day management of employment issues and counseling on best practices and compliance. She assists with developing employee policies and handbooks, conducting employee trainings, navigating accommodation and leave issues, ensuring wage-and-hour compliance, and preparing agreements pertaining to the employment relationship.
Alexandra also assists employers with conducting workplace investigations, responding to government audits and investigations, classifying employees and contractors, conducting pay equity audits, implementing reductions-in-force, and complying with WARN requirements.
Alexandra defends employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, as well as wage-and-hour, whistleblower, and leave violations before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. She has also represented employers in restrictive covenant, tort, and contract disputes arising from the employment relationship. In addition, she has experience representing employers and individual defendants in claims of sexual harassment in the workplace and educational environment.
Alexandra also assists clients with the labor and employment aspects of corporate transactions by conducting due diligence and reviewing agreements in connection with asset and stock purchases, as well as advising on existing and post-closing employment relationships and practices.
