Michael Salimbene, Pharm.D. is a partner in the firm’s Life Sciences Health Industry Group, practicing in the area of product liability litigation. Mike is a registered pharmacist, who serves a lead trial counsel for firm clients. He has represented numerous companies including AmerisourceBergen, Endo, Smith & Nephew, AstraZeneca, Merck, Baxter, and Novo Nordisk, among others.
Mike has been a member of several trial teams and he has led fact discovery and legal analysis in cases involving complex medical and scientific issues. He has deposed expert witnesses, treating physicians, and fact witnesses, and prepared company witnesses for their deposition. Mike has also taken a lead role in developing expert witnesses and preparing them to testify at trial. He also has experience in drafting summary judgment, Daubert/Frye, and pre-trial motions.
Mike's pro bono practice has included litigating claims on behalf of indigent Philadelphia residents, serving as counsel for an abused minor, and working with the ACLU to protect individual liberties. For his work with the ACLU, Mike was among a team of lawyers named "Unsung Heroes" by The Legal Intelligencer.
Prior to joining Reed Smith, Mike was an associate at another major global law firm. Before completing law school, he practiced in a community pharmacy in Trenton, NJ.
