Ben is an experienced litigator who represents Reed Smith’s commercial clients in contractual and business tort disputes before federal and state courts and various arbitration institutions. His practice primarily serves the firm’s managed health care clients in disputes with providers over contractual reimbursement, out-of-network reimbursement, medical billing fraud, and overpayment. In addition, Ben has frequently represented clients from the energy, fashion, private equity, and manufacturing sectors in high-exposure litigation and international arbitration.
Before joining Reed Smith, Ben completed judicial clerkships with the Honorable Steve Kim at the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the Honorable Anna Blackburne-Rigsby at the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, the District’s highest appellate court. Ben graduated with honors from American University Washington College of Law, where he was an editor of the American University Law Review and competed in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Vienna). Prior to law school, Ben spent several years working in advertising on national campaigns and served as an officer in the Army National Guard.
