The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about a dramatic and wide-ranging impact on our way of life and created huge economic pressures around business continuation and working capital for public companies. Secondary offerings, or follow on offerings, are a longstanding tool for public companies to raise additional capital by selling equity to the public, institutional investors and/or existing shareholders.

In the wake of the pandemic there has been a great need for public companies to raise funds and the equity capital markets have been meeting that demand for large-scale fundraisings on rapid timetables. Just as in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, the importance and need for secondary offerings will likely continue over the coming months and years.

Please join us for the next in our series of capital markets webinars for a comprehensive roundup of the legal and commercial considerations around secondary offerings in the age of COVID-19, featuring expert capital markets practitioners from Reed Smith, as well as Tom Attenborough, Primary Markets, the London Stock Exchange, Hywel Llewellyn, GC, Peel Hunt and Daniel Norman, Executive Director, Investment Banking, Panmure Gordon.
