On November 27 and 30, London Global Commercial Disputes lawyers Chloe Carswell, Suzie Savage and Olga Kacprzak presented a lecture to students at M. Narikbayev KAZGUU University and L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (the Kazakh national research university) on the topic of “Human Rights and the United Nations: Background and case study on the consideration of human rights issues by UN bodies.”

The two universities are situated in the Kazakh capital of Nur-Sultan and attendees included students from Tajikistan who are currently on exchange at L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

  • The foundation of human rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan
  • A UK case study on prisoners’ right to vote 

Members of our Global Commercial Disputes practice’s international arbitration team have been providing annual lectures to students in Kazakhstan for over 10 years. Ordinarily, the lectures are given in person in Nur-Sultan, but this year they were successfully provided remotely.
