Singapore-based international arbitration partner Timothy Cooke has been invited to lecture as part of an upcoming SIAC Academy two-day online course entitled “Arbitration 101: Understanding the International Arbitration Legal Framework," taking place in late February.

The course will provide an introduction and overview of the international arbitration legal framework and procedures, key arbitration principles, and legal sources to in-house counsel and those who are interested in arbitration.
Timothy will lead a session on February 24, 2022 (Thursday) from 9.30 a.m. to 11 a.m., and from 11.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (SGT) covering the following topics:
- UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration
- United Nations Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (the New York Convention)
- National arbitral legislation
- Institutional versus ad hoc arbitration
- Institutional arbitration rules
