HONG KONG – Global law firm Reed Smith Richards Butler today announces the relocation of its Hong Kong office from Alexandra House in the Central District to One Island East, Taikoo Place in Quarry Bay.

The move will take place in Q1 2020. It will involve the firm occupying space on two floors in the building, the 17th & 32nd floors. The space totals 26,466 sq. ft.

All of the firm’s 195 Hong Kong office personnel will move to the new location.

Denise Jong, Reed Smith Asia-Pacific managing partner, comments: “After an in-depth review of our office space requirements in light of future business needs, we have made the strategic decision to relocate our offices. We have worked from Alexandra House for over 30 years, but we are excited about what the future holds. The move is part of our continuing efforts to make smarter use of our resources and ensuring we are in the best position to support our clients and continue to grow our business.”

Hong Kong is the firm’s largest office in Asia-Pacific. Overall, more than 140 fee earners are situated across the region, including Beijing, Shanghai and Singapore.

One Island East is a Grade-A rated world-class facility that has been built to the highest sustainability standards. It is BEAM (Building Environmental Assessment Method) Rated Platinum.

The building, completed in 2008, has 68 stories, of which 59 are office floors.

Other tenants within the building include or will include AXA Investment Managers, CLSA, DBS, Ernst & Young, Facebook, J.P. Morgan, Prudential, Zurich and the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong.
