LONDON – Reed Smith has once again been named Best Law Firm for Global Weather Risk Management in Environmental Finance’s Annual Market Rankings, a title that the firm has retained since 2014. The firm was also named best law firm for EU emissions trading system for the second consecutive year.
Now in its 21st year, the Annual Market rankings are the largest and most closely watched poll of sentiment across the carbon, renewable energy certificates, and weather risk and catastrophe risk markets.
Winners are selected via a voting process which requested that companies nominate the leading traders, brokers and service providers in the markets covering carbon emissions, renewable energy certificates, and weather and catastrophe risk, on the basis of efficiency and speed of transaction; reliability; innovation; quality of information and services provided; and influence on the market. More than 950 votes were cast this year.
