Advised PPC Renewables, the renewables arm of Public Power Corporation – Greece’s largest power utility – on the €341.4 million financing of a 550 MWp single-site solar PV project under development in the Ptolemaida region of northwestern Greece. The financing was provided by Eurobank and Piraeus Bank, two leading Greek commercial banks, together with funds from the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
Acted for Hive Energy, an international renewable energy company, on the successful sale of a 267 MWp solar PV projects portfolio under development in central Greece to Juwi Group. Advice also included the preparation of a detailed VDD report and support on numerous issues relating to the licensing, grid connection, and securing of land rights for such portfolio.
Advised PPC Renewables on the successful acquisition of a 164 MW wind projects portfolio from Intrakat, a major Greek construction group, as well as on the setting up of a joint venture with Intrakat for the joint development, construction, and commercial operation of a 1.6 GW renewable energy and energy storage projects portfolio. Advice also extended to the review of certain development services agreements and construction agreements.
Acted for National Bank of Greece, a leading Greek commercial bank, on the €436 million financing for the construction of an 840 MW gas-fired power plant under development in Alexandroupolis, northern Greece.
Advised HelleniQ Renewables, the renewables subsidiary of HelleniQ Energy group (formerly known as Hellenic Petroleum), on the acquisition of a 211 MWp solar PV project under development in Romania from Mytilineos Group. The advice also covered the review and negotiation of several key project agreements, including EPC, O&M, and PPA contracts.

Advised PPC Renewables on its negotiations with Cantreva, a Greek renewable energy developer, for the finalisation of all main project agreements relating to the joint development, construction, commercial operation, maintenance, and management of a 2.1 GWp solar PV projects portfolio under development in various locations across central and northern Greece.
Advised a global fund manager on its deliberations with the Greek authorities (Ministry of Environment and Energy) for the adoption of a regulatory framework enabling the development of offshore wind projects in Greece, as well as on the drafting of policy notes and legislative proposals towards the Greek authorities.
Assisted the Greek energy regulator (RAAEY) and the Ministry of Environment and Energy in relation to the transfer of the ownership and operation of the high-voltage grid infrastructure facilities that are installed on the island of Crete from the Public Power Corporation and the Hellenic Distribution Network Operator to the Independent Power Transmission System Operator, as a result of the forthcoming, at the time, interconnection of the electricity system of the island of Crete with the national high-voltage grid under Law 4821/2021.

Advised the Hellenic Republic (Ministry of Environment and Energy) within the framework of its proposal submitted to the country’s institutional lenders for the full ownership unbundling of ADMIE (the Greek transmission system operator), owner and operator of the national high voltage grid, from PPC and the sale of a minority interest to the State Grid Corp. of China.
Advised Eurobank and Alpha Bank on the €202 million non-recourse refinancing of seven operating solar PV parks and five operating wind farms totalling 162.4 MW, owned by Greek subsidiaries of Total Eren.
Advised Eurobank, Alpha Bank, and National Bank of Greece on the financing of the landmark 73.20 MW wind project developed by Terna Energy on the islet of Agios Georgios, offshore the Athens metropolitan area.
