Daniel has extensive experience in international and domestic arbitration, handling disputes under various international and domestic arbitral institutions and rules, including under ICSID, ICC, Cámara de Comercio de Bogotá, ICDR, LCIA, UNCITRAL and AAA Rules. Prior to joining Reed Smith, Daniel worked at a renowned law firm in Bogotá, Colombia.

As the Communications Vice Chair for the Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA), Daniel published the ITA Guide to Latin American Arbitral Institutions covering 30 institutions based out of 20 countries. As the Global Associate Chair of the firm’s Hispanic/Latino Business Inclusion Group, UNIDOS, Daniel dedicates time to community and pro bono initiatives for Spanish-speaking indigents in Texas and around the country.

Daniel is the former Chair of the International Law Section of the Houston Bar Association, on the Council of the Texas Bar Association International Law Section, and heads pro bono for the Houston office of Reed Smith. Daniel is also part of the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources Group.
