The acquisition brings together two established pensions administration businesses and strengthens Isio’s administration offering, expanding the range of pension schemes it can support. The transaction forms part of Isio’s long-term growth strategy and continued investment across its pensions, employee benefits, and wealth and investment management businesses.
THPA has a strong reputation for service delivery and long-standing client relationships. Its combination with Isio will add further scale, expertise, and operational capability to Isio’s existing administration offering, while broadening the range of administration services available to clients across schemes of different sizes and requirements, from day-to-day administration through to complex projects and run-on activity.
Isio, which has more than 1,400 employees across 10 offices, is backed by Aquiline, a private investment specialist focused on financial services and technology. The acquisition is expected to close at the end of August 2026.
The Reed Smith deal team was led by Andrew Houghton and included associates Roxana Burghel and Anna Plenderleith. The team also included Caspar Fox and Tom Baxter (Tax), David Ashmore and Jonathan Lord (Employment), Nick Williams (Banking and Finance), Philip Thomas (Emerging Technologies), Brigid North and David Stokes (Real Estate), and Will Sutton (Pensions).
