LOS ANGELES – Global law firm Reed Smith today announced the addition of Bryan Ikegami as a partner in its Global Corporate Group, resident in the Century City office. Ikegami’s practice focuses on representing private equity funds and their portfolio companies in complex transactions. He led the West region of his previous firm’s private equity and M&A practice.

“Bryan is a first-rate private equity lawyer who brings the perspective of an investor and deal maker to each transaction,” said Matthew Mohn, co-chair of Reed Smith’s Global Corporate Group and chair of its U.S. Corporate Group. “His ability to build client relationships and serve as an extension of their deal teams will be an asset to our platform.”

Ikegami advises private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies and other public and private companies across all stages of domestic and cross-border transactions, and on corporate governance, executive compensation, and equity incentive arrangements. His experience spans industries including aerospace and defense, financial services, energy, health care, industrials, and technology.

“Bryan’s arrival strengthens our private equity and corporate capabilities in Southern California and reflects our investment in the market,” said Ashok W. Mukhey, managing partner of Reed Smith’s Century City office. “Clients here will benefit from his wide-ranging experience and his track record in nearly all industries.”

“I’m excited to join Reed Smith and work alongside the talented team in Century City and across the firm,” said Ikegami. “I look forward to helping Reed Smith build even more momentum as a top-tier firm for Southern California’s private equity market.”

Prior to joining Reed Smith, Ikegami was a partner at Winston & Strawn. He earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Claremont McKenna College.
