John C. Scalzo

For over two decades, John has represented a broad range of clients in complex, high-stakes disputes and class actions. He regularly represents Fortune 500 companies and international financial institutions before federal and state trial courts, appellate courts, and arbitral tribunals. John’s clients hail from a wide range of industries, including banking, finance, technology, health care, transportation, and consumer products. He is highly experienced in subject areas such as commercial contracts, complex financial instruments, business torts, pre- and post-closing M&A disputes, and shareholder and RICO litigation. Prior to joining Reed Smith, John was a litigator at Shearman & Sterling, where he represented corporate clients in civil litigation. His experience also includes a clerkship for the Honorable Legrome D. Davis, U.S. District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and a secondment to the legal department of NBC Universal, Inc.

John currently serves as Managing Partner of Reed Smith’s New York office.
