Matthew is a trial-tested litigator with experience leading complex litigation for the United States, the State of Texas, and numerous multinational companies. He has handled all major stages of litigation, including pre-filing investigations, administrative proceedings, trial, and appeals.
Before joining Reed Smith, Matthew spent more than a decade as a government litigator for the United States Department of Justice and the Texas Attorney General’s Office. This experience gives him a firsthand understanding of how government investigations and litigation are conducted and enables him to anticipate the priorities of government attorneys.
