Paul concentrates his practice on real estate development, acquisition, and disposition, leasing, portfolio leasing projects, landlord-tenant issues, commercial financing, tax assessment appeals, land use and zoning, financing workouts, and obtaining economic incentives for development projects. His clients have included large global retailers, national REITs, national and regional lenders, universities, software and information technology companies, and owners of retail and other commercial and residential properties.

Represented a global retailer in the land sale and development of one of their most prominent properties at the bustling corner of North and Wells in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood. The Reed Smith team also assisted with the temporary relocation and the subsequent transition back to the original store upon the project's completion.
Acted on a two-tranche sale-leaseback transaction of 35 properties, collectively valued at $162 million.
