Ron’s practice focuses on private equity, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, corporate finance, securities, insolvency and bankruptcy, and joint ventures. He joined the firm in 1995. From 2008 to 2012, Ron led the firm’s U.S. corporate and securities practice in our Hong Kong office. Ron served as the Office Managing Partner for Pittsburgh from 2016 to 2020 and currently serves as the firm’s Chief Legal Officer. A representative sample of his experience is below.

Represented PPG Industries in connection with the following: an acquisition of a specialty coating business, the sale of a flat glass manufacturing facility, and an acquisition and joint venture in Europe
Represented a national outdoor advertising company in connection with the following: an acquisition of company operating the static and digital billboards at one of the busiest commuter rail stations in the U.S.; a joint venture to develop more than 20 digital billboards in a growing suburban county, and a joint venture for the advertising concession at a major U.S. airport
Represented a limestone mining company in a US $700 million acquisition of a publicly held mining company
Represented a publicly held distributor of electrical products in a US $525 million acquisition and a US $250 million acquisition
Represented a Paris-based multi-national corporation in connection with the disposition of certain non-core assets in a transaction valued at over US $200 million using a unique corporate division structure
Represented the buyer in the acquisition of a steel plant from a chapter 11 company and two creditors committees of chapter 11 companies with liabilities in excess of $1 billion
Represented a medical device manufacturer in the organization of a joint venture with a Japanese inventor for the worldwide manufacture and distribution of the inventor’s product
Represented Winsway Coking Coal in connection with the Rule 144A / Reg S international tranche of a US $470 million initial public offering in Hong Kong as well as a US $500 million high-yield bond offering
Represented HKT Trust and HKT Limited in connection with the Rule 144A / Reg S international tranche of a US $1.2 billion initial public offering in Hong Kong of share stapled units (the first business trust to be listed in Hong Kong) as part of PCCW's spin-out of its telecommunications business
Represented Road King Infrastructure Limited in a RMB 1.3 billion high-yield bond issue (the first RMB denominated bond listed on the Singapore exchange to be settled in RMB) as well as two US $350 million high-yield bond issues
Represented a private equity backed specialty chemical company in connection with the issuance of €150 million of high-yield Eurobonds under Rule 144A / Reg S and a US $100 million "PIK" note issuance under Reg S
Represented a Native American Indian Tribe in connection with three issuances of investment grade notes under Rule 144A
