Jalen Brown

Associate

Jalen is a litigation associate in Reed Smith’s Chicago office and a member of the firm’s Insurance Recovery Group. Jalen represents clients in a wide variety of commercial disputes in both state and federal court. Jalen also has broad general litigation experience, including products liability defense for medical device manufacturers and data privacy class action defense. He provides key support to large publicly traded Fortune 500 corporations, as well as start-ups and mid-market private companies, in litigation matters, including high-stakes insurance coverage disputes in courts and alternative dispute resolution forums across the country.

Representative matters

Represented a Greek food manufacturer at trial arising from an ammonia explosion that resulted in millions of dollars in property damage and business interruption losses.
Represented a major packaged food company in insurance recovery efforts arising from class action lawsuits and product liability suits.
Represented aircraft leasing companies under first-party aviation coverage with respect to over $1.6 billion of insured assets wrongfully detained in Russia following the invasion of Ukraine.
