The ever expanding use of social media by U.S. companies to educate and engage consumers creates a myriad of legal pitfalls for the unwary. This one hour program will focus on the practical steps your company can take to establish the ground rules for engagement and response, including how to draft effective social media policies and how to address the important issues that arise from the posting of content including user generated advertisements, testimonials and endorsements and other consumer and employee postings, and contests and promotions on company-sponsored social media sites.

Kathyleen O'Brien, a partner in Reed Smith's Advertising, Technology, & Media and Global Regulatory Enforcement Groups, together with Beth Baier, General Counsel, Vice President, Business Affairs, Warner Home Video, Inc., will give practical guidance on the steps companies can take to successfully interact in social media and will share their top takeaways for reducing legal risk.

This program is presented by Reed Smith and the Association of Corporate Council Southern California Chapter.
