International law firm, Reed Smith has announced the appointment of partner Richard Schlötter, an intellectual property (IP) specialist, to the firm’s Munich office from Jones Day.
Richard is a specialist in IP and patent litigation, licensing and unfair competition law. He is experienced in patent disputes, enforcing design patents and protection of trade secrets. Richard also advises clients in matters related to employees’ inventions.
Richard’s appointment follows the hire of IP specialist Alexander Klett who joined the firm’s Munich office, from Gleiss Lutz, earlier this year to launch Reed Smith’s IP practice in Munich.
Stefan Kugler, Reed Smith Munich managing partner, commented:
“Richard and Alexander Klett are both experts in their field and we are excited about the future of the Munich IP group. In particular, Richard’s focus on patent litigation will enhance our capability in Europe and complement our existing practice in the United States.”
Richard Schlötter commented:
“With the launch of Reed Smith’s IP practice in Munich earlier this year, it’s an exciting time for me to join the group. I’m looking forward to being part of the team and strengthening links with clients across the firm’s network.”
