The Excellence in Maritime Law category will be awarded to an individual lawyer or law firm that has offered the best service to the maritime industry over the past 12 months - having demonstrated exemplary expertise and commitment to the shipping industry as well as evidencing clear examples of innovation through which lawyers played a crucial role in notable cases, restructuring or dispute resolution.

The finalists were chosen by an independent panel of expert judges and the winners will be announced at a ceremony on 25 September in Houston.
