Twenty-three lawyers from Reed Smith's Texas offices have been named 2019 Texas Super Lawyers, and two of them – partners Mark Temple and Alan York – were included on the Houston Super Lawyers Top 100 list. This is a significant expansion over last year, when 15 Reed Smith attorneys were listed.

Alan York has been recognized by Super Lawyers 17 times; ENR partner Kenneth Broughton has been selected 16 times; and partner Peggy Heeg appeared 15 times in the Super Lawyers list. Heeg also was included in the Texas Super Lawyers’ “Top Women Attorneys in Texas” list for Energy & Natural Resources.

Super Lawyers annually selects lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement, using a rigorous selection process that includes independent research, peer nominations, and peer evaluations. The Texas lawyers who receive the highest point totals during this selection process are further recognized in Texas Super Lawyers' Top Lists.

In May 2019 Reed Smith opened its Dallas office, with strength in financial services, commercial disputes, corporate/securities, and energy and natural resources. The firm opened its Austin office in 2018, adding depth to its life sciences and health care practices.
