Armstrong joins Reed Smith from Flaster Greenberg where he was a shareholder. Prior to that, he was a shareholder at Anderson Kill. His practice focuses on representation of privately held and publicly traded companies on insurance recovery, with a particular focus on cyber and D&O issues.
“Arthur’s success in building his practice is both admirable and promising and he maintains a positive and strong reputation among insurance industry contacts,” said Insurance Recovery Group Chair David Halbreich. “We’re excited to welcome him to the group and know he will be a great fit for the firm and the Philadelphia office.”
In addition, Armstrong represents corporate policyholders against primary and excess insurers to secure coverage under property, commercial general liability, E&O, crime and other insurance policies.
“The firm offers an enhanced geographic platform for my practice and the opportunity to collaborate with the best of the best in the insurance recovery space,” Armstrong said. “It will allow me to provide on-the-ground services nationally to many of my clients outside of Philadelphia and also offers me the opportunity to work on increasingly complex national and international insurance recovery matters.”
Armstrong handles appeals before state and federal courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He holds a certificate from HarvardX for "Cybersecurity: Managing Risk in the Information Age" and has been recognized by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers as a "Rising Star.” He is affiliated with The Union League of Philadelphia and Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyer for the Arts.
Armstrong received his J.D. from Temple University Law School where he was awarded the Albert H. Friedman Prize for excellence in legal research and writing. He also earned an undergraduate degree in political science from St. Joseph's University.
This is the second lateral move in the Philadelphia office within the last two weeks. Days ago, the firm announced Daniel Connelly as a partner in its Global Corporate Group.
“We are excited to have Arthur join our team in Philadelphia and in one of the firm’s busiest practices,” said Philadelphia Office Managing Partner Joseph J. Mahady. “Reed Smith’s insurance recovery practice – and our Philadelphia office – are in growth mode.”
