Sal Rotella and Nicole Aiken wrote an Executive Summary for the American Health Lawyers Association’s Behavioral Health Task Force entitled "Mental Health Parity and Insurance Coverage for Applied Behavioral Analysis Therapy." Sal and Nicole examine the changing landscape of insurance coverage for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) services, focusing on the extent to which federal and state parity laws require insurers to cover a popular form of ASD treatment known as Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy, and reporting on recent court challenges by families arguing that denial of such coverage for their children violated those parity laws.
