Steven is a seasoned litigator with more than 30 years’ experience representing product manufacturers and other businesses in courts throughout the United States. He has handled and supervised teams of lawyers in thousands of cases and has extensive experience in all aspects of complex litigation — from initial pleadings through jury trial.

Representative matters

Represented a global chemical company as regional counsel in California state court in dozens of lawsuits involving allegedly contaminated talc, handling all aspects of these cases, including acting as trial counsel.
Represented a global chemical company in a commercial dispute involving the purchase of mineral assets and supply of mineral resources.
Acted as national counsel for major wholesale medical product distributor in hundreds of lawsuits in every state alleging that the distribution of opioid-based pain medications violated state and federal law. Led the client’s state court defense in 10 states and coordinated the client’s defense in more than 100 class actions in federal court. Served as trial counsel for the client in a five-month trial in state court where the state attorney general alleged that the distribution of opioid pain medications constituted a public nuisance.
