Brian is a seasoned litigator and has appeared in state and federal courts and administrative tribunals. He has drafted responsive pleadings and dispositive motions, managed written discovery, argued motions, examined witnesses, and negotiated settlements. Brian also has extensive experience advising clients regarding regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining Reed Smith, Brian spent seven years with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where he primarily defended litigation concerning the Medicare program and advised on civil rights and HIPAA investigations. Brian leverages his experience in government to support his managed care clients.
Brian also values using his legal skills to help those in need. He completed a post-law school fellowship with a nonprofit agency where he advanced the rights and welfare of individuals with mental illness. He is committed to continuing to serve the community through pro bono projects.
