Please join Reed Smith and co-host INDECS in a seminar looking at insurance coverage issues arising from a hypothetical offshore blow-out.

The seminar will involve a panel discussion by reference to a case study in which a blow-out occurs during the drilling of a new well. The blow-out causes both property damage liability to third parties and pollution, triggering potential indemnity under insurance policies placed by the well’s joint venture operators.

This seminar will consider contrasting approaches and outcomes on a variety of issues including constructive total loss, recovery of defence costs, control of well cover and pollution, depending on whether the insurance policy is governed by English or New York law and jurisdiction.
