Reed Smith boosted its arbitration and litigation practice when it acquired Astigarraga Davis and opened its Miami office in the spring of 2017.

In May 2020, Miami partner José Astigarraga along with Houston partner Francisco Rivero were named by Latinvex as among “Latin America’s Top 100 Lawyers.” Latinvex selected Miami-based partner M. Cristina Cárdenas as one of Latin America's “Top 100 Female Lawyers” in 2020.

Reed Smith’s continued inclusion in these rankings is testament to the firm’s extensive knowledge of cultures of individual countries in Latin America, the regional arbitration institutions and their rules.
