SINGAPORE – Global law firm Reed Smith today announces the appointment of Singapore partner Johnny Lim as Asia co-chair of the firm’s Global Corporate Group. He will lead the global practice alongside Matthew Mohn (US) and Michael Young (EME).

“Johnny is an excellent lawyer who is team-oriented and knows how to leverage our global platform to best serve international clients,” said Casey Ryan, the Global Managing Partner of Reed Smith. “He has led many substantial transactions in our Corporate M&A group and provides our international client base strong capabilities in Asia.”

Johnny joined the firm’s Singapore formal law alliance partner, Resource Law LLC, in 2020. He joined Reed Smith as partner in 2022.

Johnny will succeed Denise Jong, who spent nearly a decade in the role and has been recently elected to the firm’s Executive Committee in September 2024.

“Under Denise’s guidance, Reed Smith’s Asian team expanded its collaborative workforce and strengthened the sterling client experience for which our firm is well-known,” said Prajakt Samant, Reed Smith’s Asia Managing Partner. “We are grateful for her hard work and dedication.”

Lim’s practice is focused on advising clients in financial services, logistics, and energy and natural resources with cross-border M&A, joint ventures, private equity, venture capital, capital markets, restructurings, and privatizations throughout China and Southeast Asia.
