Romain brings a decade long experience in advising on international financial transactions, with an emphasis on Asset Finance (Shipping and Aviation assets), Project and Equipment Finance. As an English solicitor and French avocat, he works between our London and Paris offices.
He is a technical lawyer who seeks to solve challenges for his clients with an unwavering focus on the underlying business objective for each matter.
He uses his strong understanding of operational and commercial constraints of the energy, aviation and maritime industries to advise banks, alternative lenders, owners, lessors, airlines, charterers, investors, sponsors, asset managers and arrangers on their financial and commercial transactions.
Romain regularly advises on a wide range of commercial contracts, including building, trading, transport, logistics and management contracts.
His asset finance experience includes secured and unsecured debt financings, French tax leasing, equity investment, operating leases, finance leases, novations (including portfolio sales), bond financing, sale contracts and export credit agency-supported financings related to commercial vessels and aircraft, cruise ships, private jets and superyachts.
Romain’s experience in project and cross-border equipment finance includes advising on the development, financing, and implementation of infrastructure and energy projects such as power plants and photovoltaic solar parks and negotiating complex financial leasing.
Away from the office, when he is not supporting his favourite Rugby club or playing golf, Romain is a passionate reader of Dumas and other classic serial novelists.
