Chrissy joined our Government Relations Team and our State Attorneys General Team after several years of experience working for the Virginia legislature as well as working in a Richmond, Virginia, law firm as a litigator of complex cases. She offers clients a full spectrum of support, including representation before the legislature, state agencies, the attorney general, or the governor. Chrissy works with clients on drafting legislation, legislative and regulatory monitoring, and testifying before committees. Chrissy also advises clients and works with them on anticipating potential issues and developing smart solutions before government investigations occur or litigation is initiated.
Prior to joining Reed Smith, Chrissy was an attorney with the Virginia Division of Legislative Services, where she drafted legislation for the members of the General Assembly and served as counsel for the House and Senate Commerce and Labor Committees, as well as House and Senate Transportation Committees. In this role, legislators relied upon Chrissy’s expertise in insurance, energy, labor, and transportation issues as they were making voting decisions. During that time, she drafted hundreds of pieces of legislation in a wide variety of areas.
Additionally, Chrissy served as counsel to numerous regulatory and policy committees, including the Health Insurance Reform Commission, the Commission on Unemployment Compensation, the Joint Commission on Transportation Accountability, and the Small Business Commission.
Before working for the Virginia legislature, Chrissy was a litigator at a Richmond law firm for a number of years, defending complex personal injury cases.
In her free time, Chrissy enjoys running and spending time outdoors with her family. Chrissy lives in Richmond with her husband and two children.
