Before becoming Global Managing Partner, Casey held several key leadership roles at Reed Smith, including Global Head of Legal Personnel, Global Chair of the Labor & Employment Group, and Vice Chair of the Global Litigation Department. As Global Head of Legal Personnel, she oversaw the firm’s compensation, promotion, and hiring processes, and launched several initiatives that continue to shape the firm today – including Associate Life, Associate Advantage, and Wellness Works, one of the first comprehensive health programs at a major law firm. She also helped establish the firm’s Family Network and its Alumni Network, which now connects thousands of former Reed Smith lawyers around the world.

Casey routinely represents colleges and universities on employment and campus-related matters, including tenure issues, Clery Act compliance, and student affairs. She is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) and has been a speaker at its national conferences.

Casey has also led numerous internal investigations involving allegations of fraud, embezzlement, theft, discrimination, and harassment, and frequently trains human resources professionals on how to conduct and document effective investigations.

Casey maintains an active counseling practice, advising employers on all aspects of the employment relationship, including hiring, discipline, and termination in both unionized and non-unionized workplaces. She drafts employment policies, executive agreements, separation agreements, and employee handbooks tailored to each client’s needs.
