Mortgage loan servicers have had to overcome numerous challenges, including fallout from a comprehensive nationwide settlement between state regulators and the largest servicers, a massive set of Dodd-Frank-inspired rules adopted by the CFPB in 2013, significant enforcement actions against servicers by federal and state regulators, and a high volume of litigation claims against servicers. Now, more challenges have emerged. To address these challenges, members of Reed Smith’s Financial Services Regulatory Group are presenting a one-hour webinar, in which they will cover:

  • Servicing Rule Amendments. A detailed look at the CFPB’s recently adopted and extensive amendments to its 2013 Dodd-Frank mortgage servicing rules. Changes relating to successors in interest, periodic statements, early intervention and many more issues will be covered.
  • Enforcement Trends. CFPB enforcement actions, the interplay between CFPB Enforcement and Supervision staff, and what that means for mortgage loan servicers. New Reed Smith partner Maria Earley, formerly of the CFPB enforcement staff, will present.
