(April 6, 2011, LOS ANGELES)- Reed Smith LLP has announced the addition of Keith A. Meyer as a partner in the firm's Insurance Recovery Group in its Los Angeles office.
"Keith brings a wealth of experience in insurance recovery law to the firm, and the added capability of his first chair trial experience is a great addition to our existing trial practice group in Los Angeles," said Abraham J. Colman, managing partner of the firm's Los Angeles office.
Formerly a partner in the Los Angeles office of Howrey LLP, Mr. Meyer specializes in the representation of policyholders in complex insurance coverage disputes, including the prosecution of bad faith cases. He has extensive experience representing policyholders seeking insurance coverage relating to the cleanup of hazardous waste sites, toxic tort and product liability claims, directors and officers' liability, errors and omissions coverage, business interruption claims, employment liability and related coverages. Keith has successfully litigated claims against American, British and other foreign insurers, as well as insurance brokers and agents.
"Reed Smith's strong national insurance recovery and commercial litigation practices, and its commitment to the representation of policyholders, is a great platform for my clients," Mr. Meyer said. "I'm excited to be part of such a dynamic and growing firm."
Mr. Meyer joins an experienced insurance recovery practice, with more than 70 attorneys worldwide.
"We're pleased to have Keith join our ranks at a time when there continues to be an increasing need for attorneys who work exclusively for policyholders," said Douglas E. Cameron, head of the firm's Insurance Recovery Group. "Our practice has never been busier and having Keith's capabilities on the West Coast is a great addition to our team."
Mr. Meyer graduated from Loyola Law School in 1982, where he was a member of the St. Thomas Moore Law Honor Society and chairman of the school's Jessup International Moot Court championship team. He received his bachelor's degree cum laude from Claremont McKenna College.
Counsel Evy M. Wild, former Director of Southern California operations for The CapAnalysis Group, LLC, an economic, financial, accounting and litigation consulting services firm, is also joining Reed Smith in the Los Angeles office. The CapAnalysis Group was a subsidiary of Howrey.
With 15 years of accounting and litigation consulting experience, Ms. Wild has worked with a broad range of firms and industries in both litigation and non-litigation settings. Her expertise in financial and accounting issues has proved useful in numerous matters involving economic damages, lost profits, unjust enrichment, reasonable royalties, the valuation of businesses, assets and intellectual property, insurance recovery and business interruption claims, forensic accounting and accounting malpractice. She has previously been designated as an expert and has provided expert arbitration testimony.
She received her law degree from Southwestern University School of Law in 2000, and her undergraduate degree from Pepperdine.
Also joining Reed Smith from Howrey is associate Amber S. Finch. Ms. Finch has extensive experience in general commercial litigation, environmental litigation, and insurance recovery. In these areas, she represents a broad spectrum of clients including manufacturing companies, entertainment industry businesses, financial institutions,
health organizations and airlines. Ms. Finch has appeared at trial and before state and federal appellate courts on behalf of her clients.
Ms. Finch is a University of Southern California Law School graduate, 2002. She received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University.
Former Howrey secretary Kim Saavedra and paralegal Esther Wolkowitz have also moved to Reed Smith.
