(21 September, 2017) –Reed Smith partner Peter Rosher has been elected to the board of directors of the French Arbitration Association.

The Association Française d'Arbitrage, known as the AFA, is a mediation and arbitration institution. Its purpose is to promote, in France and abroad, mediation and arbitration for a better resolution of disputes by offering to individuals and enterprises clear, simple and efficient regulations enforced with strict ethics. The AFA’s Board of Directors is regularly renewed and comprises of practitioners specialising in mediation and arbitration.

Peter’s appointment was announced at the AGM last night and coincides with the AFA appointing a new president Marc Henry in place of Bertrand Moreau, who has served as president for the past two years. 

Commenting on his appointment, Peter said “I am thrilled to take on this new role under the dynamic presidency of Marc Henry.  I look forward to contributing to the AFA’s goals of promoting institutional arbitration internationally and to be part of the international diversification of its board membership, bringing on board an Anglo-Irishman!”
