The book - published by Kluwer International – comprises 40 articles by 40 highly-regarded IA practitioners who are under the age of 40. Simon’s article is entitled: “Delivering justice or resolving the dispute?” and seeks to consider, as a matter of English law, whether arbitration is more focused on dispute resolution or delivering justice, or if it is a balance of both - a question that commercial parties, when including arbitration clauses in their contracts, perhaps think less about than issues such as enforcement, confidentiality and flexibility – some of the traditional benefits of arbitration. However, the question of what parties ultimately want from an arbitration is a fundamental one, that goes to heart of the decision as to whether to submit to the jurisdiction of a court or to a private arbitral tribunal.

Many congratulations Simon for this great recognition and contribution to raising Reed Smith’s profile in international arbitration. Please visit the firm’s LinkedIn to read more about the publication.
