LONDON – Global law firm Reed Smith today announces the hire of Romin Dabir as partner in its Financial Industry Group and London office.

Dabir most recently worked at Kirkland & Ellis International where he was a partner in the Financial Services Regulatory team. He began his legal career at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, moving to Macfarlanes at six years post-qualification. Before becoming a lawyer, Dabir worked as a management consultant for EY where he qualified as a chartered management accountant.

With over 15 years’ experience advising on a wide range of financial regulatory issues, Dabir brings a wealth of expertise to the firm and will bolster Reed Smith’s robust financial regulatory offering in the UK and Europe.

His practice is primarily focused on providing regulatory advice to financial services clients on both the sell-side and the buy-side on a broad range of regulatory issues, as well as providing support for transactional departments advising on the acquisition of authorised financial firms or the issue of securities on regulated markets.

Dabir also has extensive experience advising alternative fund managers, including in relation to fund formation, fund marketing and general compliance matters. He will strengthen the firm’s growing funds capability.
