Kelly has extensive experience across a range of structured finance products including CLOs, receivables financing, securitisations, forward flow financings, NPLs, RMBS, CMBS and asset backed lending. She acts for a range of market participants including CLO managers, issuers, trustees, agents, and investors.
Kelly also has an active litigation funding practice, advising both borrowers and funders on bilateral and portfolio litigation financings as well as developing bespoke structures for the ‘funding of funds’.
Additionally, she regularly advises sovereigns and supranational organisations on bespoke financings across a range of humanitarian projects. Her humanitarian financing experience includes assisting with the development of an innovative financing solution for the continued production of a key component in a malaria vaccine, assisting with the implementation of the IFRC’s DREF insurance product to maximise donations, and advising the International Finance Facility for Education (IFFed) on its ‘grants and guarantees’ financing product which ‘multiplies’ donor resources to provide more affordable funding to low and middle income countries for investment in children’s education.
Prior to joining Reed Smith, Kelly spent a number of years working in-house at GE Capital’s European leverage finance business as senior counsel and acting general counsel advising on all stages of the life cycle of leverage loans.
She is a 2022 winner of the Lynne Freeman Rising Star Award and was short-listed for Women & Diversity in Law Returner of the Year 2023.
