Prior to joining the firm, Roberto spent five years acting as general counsel to a large, privately owned shipping company. In this role, he advised on the construction, sale and purchase, conversion, financing, management, operation and ownership of various types of vessels, gaining an intrinsic understanding of the day-to-day operational challenges in the international maritime sector. His experience also includes structuring, negotiating and managing multi-jurisdictional asset and project financing, share deals, joint ventures, and large-scale shipping, logistics and offshore projects.
Prior to moving in house, Roberto practiced in Italy at top-ranked law firms, where he gained deep experience on Italian business laws acting on a broad range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, project and asset financings, distressed asset acquisitions, restructurings, and non-performing loan transactions across a number of industry sectors, with a particular focus on shipping, oil and gas, and energy.
