In particular, George has focused on disputes involving coverage for: aviation losses; longtail environmental liability claims; product liability and toxic tort claims; professional liability claims; claims for lost shipping cargo; claims stemming from power outages; first-party property/business interruption claims; and for infringement of intellectual property and related business torts (including antitrust liabilities).

Additionally, George has been uniquely successful in pursuing statutory and common-law bad faith claims against insurers, most notably in the Mine Safety Appliances Company v. North River Insurance Company matter referenced below, in which he served as the principal architect of a bad faith claim that resulted in a non-jury award of $46.9 million in statutory bad faith damages.

Beyond his insurance practice, George has successfully defended multi-million dollar claims for contractual and common law indemnification, as well as claims alleging fraud, negligence and unfair trade practices. Among other matters, George currently is handling litigation involving a Power Purchase Agreement and a dispute under a commercial lease.
