Reed Smith advises New Water Capital in LidWorks acquisition

Global law firm Reed Smith advised New Water Capital, a Boca Raton-based private equity investment firm, in its acquisition of LidWorks, a family-owned designer and manufacturer of custom food, beverage, and specialty lids.

LidWorks manufactures over two billion lids per year, serving leading quick-serve restaurant chains, convenience store brands, and packaging manufacturers and distributors nationwide. Its flexible production platform offers extensive customization at competitive prices and allows close collaboration with clients to develop tailored products.

The acquisition reflects New Water’s long-standing commitment to the food and beverage and packaging sectors. Working alongside LidWorks’ founder and existing management team, New Water will build on LidWorks’ strong foundation through investments in additional capacity and targeted M&A to broaden capabilities and better serve customers.

The Reed Smith deal team was led by partners Nick Gibson, Bob McCann, and Sara O’Toole Loevner and associates Katie Kramer Tear and Bea Goodyear. The finance team was led by partners David Hayes, Ben Brimeyer, and Brendan Leanos and associates Emily Cranny, and Helen Hsuan.

Reed Smith’s private equity practice is consistently ranked among the most active and highly regarded globally, earning top-tier recognition from Chambers, Legal 500, The Deal, PitchBook, and Thomson Reuters, while also being named to BTI's elite Client Service and Super Listener A-Teams for 2026.
