HOUSTON – Global law firm Reed Smith recently represented Pelican Energy Partners, a private equity firm focused on the energy services and equipment sectors, in its acquisition of Riggins Company, a provider of engineered metal fabrication and custom components to the United States Navy and its shipbuilding partners, as well as the power, refining, petrochemical, and aerospace industries.

With established relationships across major U.S. nuclear shipbuilding prime contractors and leading industrial firms, Riggins has demonstrated the ability to execute large-scale, custom, and technically demanding projects. Under Pelican’s ownership, Riggins will expand capacity, continue investing in its workforce, and continue delivering quality and schedule performance for its customers.

The Reed Smith deal team included Efren Acosta, Angelina Bishman, Zac Anderson, Ron Scharnberg, Tori Becker, Jess Henschel, and Joey Mammone.
