Betty is a highly respected, established and experienced labor and employment practitioner who leads the firm’s Virginia Labor & Employment team. Betty is a former global practice group leader for Reed Smith's Labor & Employment practice and previously served on the firm's Executive Committee. Betty represents numerous global and national companies, including a Fortune 50 media and entertainment company, a nationwide optical manufacturer and retailer, global defense contractors, numerous health care providers, industry disrupters and a regional financial services company, among other notable clients. Her legal background, her strength in continuously staying abreast of changes in the law and adapting to the legal environment, as well as her diverse community involvement, have given her a unique ability to identify with the sensitive and evolving issues and communicate with clients in an effective and practical manner.

Client Confidential - Helped secure a full dismissal of an EEOC systemic discrimination complaint into the criminal background check policies and procedures of a Fortune 100 NYSE bank.
Represented defendants INEO Support Global, INEO Global Support, and several individual defendants in a trade secret misappropriation action in state court in Virginia in which plaintiffs attempted to enjoin defendants from participating in a multi-year, €1 billion French Ministry of Defense contract competition. Defeated plaintiffs’ preliminary injunction application. Case settled favorably.
Client Confidential – Secured full dismissal of an EEOC systemic disability discrimination investigation relating to claims of failure to accommodate employees.
