Courtney C. T. Horrigan

Outside the litigation setting, Courtney counsels clients on insurance coverage and corporate indemnification. She works with clients to negotiate insurance policies during placements and renewals and performs insurance policy audits for boards of directors, trustees, and legal departments. She also performs corporate due diligence on insurance and litigation matters, and advises on transactional risk protection, including representations and warranties insurance.

Courtney has served in a number of firm leadership positions, including as a member of the Executive Committee, the firm’s global governing board, in which capacity she was a member of the firm’s Finance and Talent. Courtney also has served as the vice chair of the Insurance Recovery Group and as the hiring partner of the Pittsburgh office. She is ranked by both Chambers USA Legal Guide and Best Lawyers U.S., was honored by the Pittsburgh Business Times as a Woman of Influence, and was recognized as a notable practitioner in the Chambers Global rankings.

Courtney frequently writes on insurance coverage and has a quarterly by-line in Law360 focused on key insurance topics. This year, she has spoken by invitation at the American Bankers Association’s Insurance Risk Management Forum on third-party risk, at the DePaul College of Law’s Jaharis Health Law Institute on cyber insurance, and at Amtrak on artificial intelligence and insurance law.
