Ella has experience advising both local and international companies in complex and multi-jurisdictional litigation and international arbitration proceedings, particularly in the shipping, energy and financial services sectors. She acts for clients in the English High Court and DIFC Courts as well as in LMAA arbitration.
Ella assists clients in navigating contentious and non-contentious sanctions issues, primarily involving the impact of UK, EU, and U.S. sanctions. She has acted for clients in sanctions delisting applications across many jurisdictions and is currently representing several high-profile individuals and entities in sanctions delisting applications linked to Russian sanctions imposed by the UK and EU.
Ella also has experience in transactional matters within the energy and commodities sector, including in relation to the sale and financing of commodities, and has cross-border experience working with global commodity traders, LNG producers and exporters, banks and non-bank lenders.
Ella’s transactional experience includes assisting clients on trade and commodity finance matters, including project-based and structured commodity finance transactions. Ella also has experience drafting and negotiating various forms of trade and storage agreements, including GTCs and supply agreements.
Ella’s experience also includes a secondment to an LNG producer and exporter, where she supported the establishment of the ship management arm of the business, drafted procurement GTCs and negotiated various supply agreements and vendor terms and conditions.
