Mike is a partner in Reed Smith’s Energy and Natural Resources Group. He concentrates his practice in trade finance, structured finance, and commercial lending.
In particular, Mike has assisted clients in connection with international and domestic syndicated and bilateral revolving and term credit facilities; asset-backed and corporate commercial paper programs; standby and documentary letter of credit facilities; medium-term note programs; bond issuances; private placements; export prepayment facilities; back-to-back tax facilities; receivables discounting facilities; silent payment guarantees; structured trade finance transactions; inventory and receivables borrowing base facilities, prepayments, repos, subleases, and consignment transactions; receivable, inventory, and whole business securitizations; securities repos; and credit risk retention financing facilities.
In addition, Mike has significant experience representing clients in connection with commercial arrangements involving the usage of terminals, ports, storage facilities, transloading facilities, refineries, splitters, pipelines, and other logistical assets for the storage, transportation, and processing of physical commodities, as well as the use of such facilities in connection with profit sharing and marketing arrangements.
