Carolyn has more than 25 years’ experience working in commercial disputes, media, and intellectual property, representing a variety of clients across the entertainment, gaming, retail, and technology sectors. She is also a member of Reed Smith’s Retail & Consumer Goods Group. Carolyn has extensive experience in:
- Commercial litigation
- Intellectual property and media, including trade marks, copyright, breach of confidence, libel, privacy, and advertising. Carolyn’s intellectual property practice includes transactional work, such as rights, IT, and IP contract negotiations, as well as litigation
- Inquiries (in particular within the media industry)
- Social media
- Interim remedies, including worldwide freezing orders and anti-suit injunctions
- Media regulation
- Publishing and broadcasting (television and radio)
Carolyn has been Acting General Counsel for one of Europe’s largest media groups. She is a member and former Chair of the Law Society’s Intellectual Property Law Committee and has sat on Reed Smith’s Executive Committee.

Carolyn was named one of Brummell Magazine’s Inspirational Women CITY Champions of Diversity.
Carolyn leads the firm’s London LEADRS group, which aims to increase the numbers of people with disabilities in the firm.
